Well well well.. what have we here? Some "Not So Scary" treats...
OHHH, YOU'LL WANT THEM ALL!
After spending the past few nights in the Magic Kingdom watching all the Halloween decorations go up for a new TV special, I'm probably the most excited non-disney cast member around. Seeing the Headless horseman gallop down Main Street at 2am, watching the dress rehearsal of the Boo To You parade at 3am and listening to the Sanderson Sisters sing their haunting chants until 6am are the types of experiences that classify as legit dreams coming true. What I wasn't able to do was try out all of these sweets. I did get to enjoy a No-So-Poison Apple Cupcake which was AMAZING, but we'll get into that a bit later.
If this is your first time attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party or a returning guest, you know you're in for a treat - literally. Those pastry wizards over at Walt Disney World have done it again and this time their creations are also a feast for the eyes. We've got the entire list of what you can expect while taking breaks from all that trick-or-treating.
Starting things off with a treat I've already enjoyed as a work perk while filming, is this No-So-Poison Apple Cupcake available at the Main Street Bakery. It's quite possibly the tastiest cupcake of them all! Think of this as half spiced “apple” cupcake with pecan crunch and buttercream and half frosting. The top is portion is covered with shards of edible candy glass and layers upon layers of frosting. This is a massive creation, and easily can be shared as a 2 person cupcake.
A staple of Halloween candy is Candy Corn and the party wouldn't be complete without a few treats featuring this classic. First up is the Candy Corn Milkshake. It's not a party exclusive, so anyone can enjoy this when visiting Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies in Tomorrowland. You can't go wrong with a milkshake to beat the Florida heat, and when it's Candy Corn flavored... Halloween goals right there.
AND IT'S TOPPED WITH A CANDY CORN MICKEY SHAPED MARSHMALLOW!!!! UH-MAZING!!!!
Not to be outdone by the shake, Candy Corn Soft Serve is returning as well!
This swirled sensation is also available at Auntie Gravity's and available throughout the Halloween season. Vanilla and candy corn flavored soft serve is probably the one treat that you can’t skip. If you had to choose one, take it from me, this should be it.
Mickey isn't the only one getting into the spirit of the season, the Minnie Witch Brownie will be available at Casey’s Corner until October 31st and will be available for all . It's topped with a white chocolate piece featuring the one and only FABULOUS Minnie Mouse, dressed in her Halloween best!
The Pumpkin Cheesecake is available at Main Street Bakery (on party nights only) is gluten-friendly with gluten-friendly vanilla pecan cake and caramel glaze. Oh, and an adorable chocolate Mickey Pumpkin topping it off.
This deliciously spooky Mickey-shaped cinnamon roll is topped with icing and a chocolate spider web is also available daily at the Main Street Bakery.
Everyone’s favorite ghostly good boy, Zero, has some special pumpkin waffles for you here at Sleepy Hollow. The Zero Waffle Sunday sundae comes topped vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, and a caramel drizzle. You can find it at Sleepy Hollow on party nights only, but will be available daily starting October 1.
These gummy worms have been laid to rest. No mourning, please, at their request. The Worms & Dirt chocolate pudding comes topped with gluten-friendly cake crumbs, gummy worms, and a chocolate grave stone. You can find it at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café on party nights only, but will be available daily starting October 1.
Dear, sweet Leota, beloved by all. In regions beyond now, but having a ball-shaped dessert. You don’t need a fortune teller to see this sweet treat in your future! The Madame Leota Dessert has a vanilla tart shell filled with toasted marshmallow pastry crème and topped with crispy pearls, chocolate, and a hard candy garnish. The Madame Leota Dessert will be available at Liberty Square Market on party nights only.
Welcome foolish mortals.. These hungry ghosts have hitchhiked all the way to Adventureland – and they’ve brought this Doom Buggy-inspired Cream Puff with them! It’s filled with cookies and cream mousse and topped with a chocolate piece featuring the Hitchhiking Ghosts. Your cadaverous pallor can find this ghoulish treat at Aloha Isle on party nights only.
If there is an empty place inside those bones, then you should fill it with the Jack Skellington Cake Push Pop. It comes layered with chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream, white chocolate and dark chocolate crispy pearls, dark chocolate curls, and a white chocolate Jack Skellington piece. The bone daddy knows how to treat up the frights, you'll find this at Sleepy Hollow on party nights only.
Over in Frontierland you'll find the Cider House (Golden Oak Outpost) pouring some refreshing Apple Cider. Pair it with a Warm Caramel-Stuffed Pretzel or a few Cinnamon Donuts and you’ve got yourself a frighteningly sweet snack!
You’re joking! You’re JOKING! This thing is gluten-friendly? That’s right – this pomegranate-cherry gelée with gummy worms is topped with glow-in-the-dark meringue AND it’s gluten-friendly. How cool is that? Dig up this treat at Gaston's Tavern in Fantasyland on party nights only.
Turn up the heat with the Hades Nachos at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café. These black bean nacho chips are topped with fiery buffalo chicken and your choice of toppings from the topping bar! These bites will only materialize during party nights.
When soaring through the cosmos of Tomorrowland, stop by Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café. Feed that monstrous appetite with the Muenster Smash Burger served on a black bun with Muenster cheese, tots, and Sriracha aïoli. This is another dish that's only available on party nights.
LISTEN WELL – ALL OF YOU! You didn't think the folks at Walt Disney World forgot to invite Maleficent to the party, did you? The Maleficent Dessert has arrived at Storybook Treats! It comes with lime soft-serve in a black waffle cone and topped with purple sugar and chocolate horns. This frightfully beautiful treat is available throughout the Halloween season, they made sure everyone who visits Magic Kingdom park would be invited to try one.
