With the new expansions coming soon to Epcot, older attractions must be laid to rest. On September 8th, 2019 we said farewell to the following nostalgic attractions:
Club Cool
Fountain View (Starbucks)
Fountain of Nations
Character Spot Meet and Greets (includes Mickey, Minnie, & Pluto)
Club Cool is definitely the fan favorite of the bunch and Disney has reassured that the popular soda shop will be returning in another form. Character meet and greets with Mickey, Minnie, & Goofy will take place in a nearby location towards The Seas with Nemo and Friends. While Starbucks is said to have a new temporary location, it has unfortunately not been announced yet.
Here is a list of other stores and restaurants set to close later this year:
Electric Umbrella
Mouse Gear
Art of Disney
Pin Central
Innoventions
Camera Center

What will replace these stores and restaurants?
Disney will be transforming all of these older stores and attractions into even more exciting pavilions and will be renaming their locations to World Celebration, World Discovery, and World Nature - World Showcase’s name will remain the same. To see their vision more clearly, a preview center will be opening on October 1, 2019 in the Odyssey Building.
World Discovery - Guardians of the Galaxy, Space 220 Restaurant, New Play Pavilion, and More
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind with a never before seen story telling coaster that rotates to focus on the action
Space 220 is a brand new restaurant that will be added right next to Mission Space and will feature an out of this world culinary experience! The restaurant will be surrounded by a panorama of a space station with views of Earth from 220 miles up.
The PLAY! pavilion is a digital metropolis and interactive city bursting with games, activities, and experiences for all ages with Disney. The PLAY! Pavilion will open for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2021.
World Celebration - 2.5 Year Spaceship Earth Refurbishment
Concept art for World Celebration shows a gorgeous three story building that will become a new unnamed pavilion at Epcot. The building will offer impressive architecture, towering glass windows on the second level, and a garden on the top level for those perfect views of the new nighttime spectacular, HarmonioUS, coming soon.
Later on, Spaceship Earth will be going under a massive refurbishment project that will take more than 2 years to complete.
World Nature - Moana Inspired Gardens and Awesome Planet Film
World Nature’s biggest highlight is the Journey of Water, inspired by “Moana”. This walkthrough will allow guest to interact with magical, living water in a beautiful and inspiring setting.
The Land pavilion will also receive a new film called “Awesome Planet” which will celebrate the beauty and diversity of Earth and will debut in January 2020.
World Showcase - HarmoniUS, New Mary Poppins Attraction, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and New Films
Disney will be adding a brand new Mary Poppins attraction that will transport guests through Cherry Tree Lane within the UK Pavilion.
Following the limited time run of Epcot Forever, Disney will be introducing us to a new nighttime spectacular - HarmoniUS. The firework show will celebrate how Disney music inspires people from all over the world.
The France Pavilion will be receiving a brand new Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction that will be a rendition of the ever popular Ratatouille ride in Disneyland Paris. France will also receive a new restaurant called La Crêperie de Paris and an addition to the Impressions de France film, the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along.
“Canada Far and Wide in Circle-Vision 360” will debut in January 2020 in the Canada pavilion with new scenes and a new story
