Just when you thought a ticket to visit Shanghai Disneyland wasn’t enticing enough, Disney Parks has just announced their latest expansion and it’ll make you want to try everything!
Based on the beloved Academy Award winning film Zootopia, this new expansion will become Shanghai Disneyland’s eighth land with its announcement coming less than a year after the opening of its first major expansion, Disney•Pixar Toy Story Land.
Ever since Zootopia hit the silver screens, I think we’ve all wished to be transported into an immersive landscape based off the wildly popular film. The new land will be a place “where anyone can be anything” and feature one new major attraction along with untold amounts of epic new merchandise, entertainment, food, and beverage offerings. CAN WE SAY PAWPSICLES, PLEASE!
We spotted a giant popsicle and some new ears that look like they may be inspired by Gazelle!
I see plenty of animal themed ears here including some inspired by Officer Hopps and Clawhauser!
While the film was a global success , it broke box office records in China to become the country’s No. 1 all-time highest grossing animated feature film. This makes complete sense as to why Shanghai Disneyland is getting the animal metropolis of our dreams. Disney has stated that even though the beloved characters Judy and Nick will be joined by other favorites from the film when the new land opens.
