Disneyland Cancels Annual Pass Holder Program Indefinitely

As we leap into the new year and further away from the dreaded 2020, we’ve been hit with some more bad news for the Disney Parks. Today, Disneyland in California has announced that they will no longer be able to support their Annual Pass Holder Program. This cancellation is effective immediately.

“For nearly four decades, our Annual Passport program has been an important part of connecting with some of our most valued Guests. We are incredibly honored and grateful for that legacy, and the memories and magical moments you have helped us create over the years.” says Ken Potrock, Disneyland Resort President in an email sent this evening.

What will happen to my pass?

You will receive a refund if you paid in full or if you pay monthly.

Annual Passholders who paid for the year in full or who had an unused balance on a monthly plan can expect a partial refund if their pass is eligible. Click here to learn more about refunds and regulations for each pass situation.

Information has not been provided on when the refunds will be posted to accounts.

Premier Passes that allow access to Walt Disney World and Disneyland can be renewed for a Walt Disney World Resort Annual Pass.

Premier pass holders can renew their passes through April 30, 2021. All premier passports will be cancelled after March 31, 2021. Premier pass holders will be able to use their park access to Walt Disney World and use their V.I.Passholder perks until cancellation.

Discounts on food, beverage, and merchandise are still active!

Disneyland Pass Holders who purchased a pass after March 14, 2020 can still use their discounts on merchandise and food and beverage at select locations throughout Downtown Disney District and Buena Vista Street locations. As an added benefit, starting January 18 through February 25, 2021, these Passholders will receive a 30% discount on select merchandise.

It’s unfortunate to see such a pivotal part of Disneyland expire so suddenly, but we’re hoping that the major drop in attendance makes it easier and safer for the parks to operate through this rough patch in history!
